About Still Sonic

Why we built it

Most rooms don't stay quiet. Traffic, neighbours, a busy office, a mind that won't settle at night. A steady, gentle sound helps: it softens sudden noises and gives your attention somewhere calm to rest. But too many sound apps put an account, a download or a subscription between you and that calm. Still Sonic doesn't. Open the page, press play, and you're listening.

What you can do here

• Play a sound — rain, ocean waves, flowing water, heavy thunder, white noise or brown noise, each with its own scene behind rain-streaked glass.
• Mix your own — the mixer lets you layer several sounds and set each one's volume, like rain with a distant rumble of thunder.
• Drift off with a sleep timer — choose 15, 30 or 60 minutes and the sound fades out gently instead of stopping abruptly.

What we believe

• Free, instantly. No signup, no email, no paywall before you can listen.
• No ads. Nothing interrupts the sound you came for.
• No account needed. You never have to sign up or tell us who you are to listen. See our Privacy Policy for how the site handles data.
• Works everywhere. It runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install.
